Missing The Point(s)

Much is being made of Joe Biden’s mention of a “generated crisis”

“Mark my words,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

From the Political Radar:
“I’ve forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know, so I’m not being falsely humble with you. I think I can be value added, but this guy has it,” the Senate Foreign Relations chairman said of Obama. “This guy has it. But he’s gonna need your help. Because I promise you, you all are gonna be sitting here a year from now going, ‘Oh my God, why are they there in the polls? Why is the polling so down? Why is this thing so tough?’ We’re gonna have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years. So I’m asking you now, I’m asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point because you’re going to have to reinforce us.”

“There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don’t know about that decision’,” Biden continued. “Because if you think the decision is sound when they’re made, which I believe you will when they’re made, they’re not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if they’re popular, they’re probably not sound.”

I guess my direction with this is a bit different……..

Being tested as a new President is not uncommon.  I would suspect that if McCain wins, he, too, will be tested but in a more simple way, since he is pretty much a known quantity when it comes to foreign policy and military matters.

But the end of the second paragraph is what really find interesting.  Not necessarily because of the “freaky factor” as experienced by Gateway Pundit, but that this is what Bush asked of the democrats all throughout this term from 9/11 on and the dems and liberals pissed on him.

I can’t tell you how many bumberstickers I have seen that say “Protest is the purest form of Democracy” and “Dissent is Patriotic”…….

Now Biden says, in effect, “I guarantee that something is coming.  We don’t know what it is, but whatever we do about it, you have to trust us because it won’t look right. I don’t know what it will be that we do for whatever happens, and it won’t look right but believe me, it is….”

At least Bush told you what the plan was……..VICTORY!

The other thing I find interesting are his words”we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community….”

I assume that means for the loyal followers to “convince” the rest who are unsure……but who knows?  Influence?  What influence?

So here you have a socialist guy who buries people to get elected (his IL Senate race), investigates private citizens (and he’s not even elected yet!), has school kids singing songs about him, has people at the DK wondering if he’s Christ returned, has the MSM eating out of his outstretched hand….

needing our help when his poll numbers are down….

Just think about it for a few minutes…..just weird eh?

Selective Memory

So here’s this….

The crisis isn’t the only scary thing going on. Something very ugly is taking shape on the political scene: as McCain’s chances fade, the crowds at his rallies are, by all accounts, increasingly gripped by insane rage. It’s not just a mob phenomenon — it’s visible in the right-wing media, and to some extent in the speeches of McCain and Palin.

We’ve seen this before. One thing that has been sort of written out of the mainstream history of politics is the sheer insanity of the attacks on the Clintons — they were drug smugglers, they murdered Vince Foster (and lots of other people), they were in league with foreign powers. And this stuff didn’t just show up in fringe publications — it was discussed in Congress, given props by the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal, and so on.

What it came down to was that a significant fraction of the American population, backed by a lot of money and political influence, simply does not consider government by liberals (even very moderate liberals) legitimate. Ronald Reagan was supposed to have settled that once and for all.

What happens when Obama is elected? It will be even worse than it was in the Clinton years. For sure there will be crazy accusations, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some violence.

The next few years are going to be very, very tough.

So, yeah….so far everyone has done a great job of pointing out the fact that the last eight years have been filled with movies about Bush the drunk, Bush the doper, Bush the terrorist, Bush the war criminal, Bush the spoiled frat boy, impeach Bush for war crimes, impeach Bush for taking away our rights, impeach Bush for planning 9/11………………

Like this didn’t happen when Bush won BOTH times?

What’s interesting to me is …..where the “F” has this guy been for the past eight years…..
It’s already been a tough few years asshole

Angry? Who’s Angry……

Anger Is Crowd’s Overarching Emotion at McCain Rally

Unlike ordinary everyday liberals that you meet on the street…

Ramblings

Just some random friday thoughts as I wont to do before getting started at the office….

Didn’t watch the entire debate last night, turned it off at Palin’s response to what was behind the financial meltdown.  Sorry folks, not ONE mention of congress’s role in screwing the citizens of this country, just crap about greedy unethical Wall Street.

McCain and Palin are running  on a “we need to clean house” platform.  So where’s the broom Sarah?

I am not a big fan of McCain.  He lost me back during the Gang of 14 when the republicans could have fixed the problem with the “nuclear option”  But Mccain screwed that up.

But I am not a fan of Obama the Socialist which really makes it difficult to say whay I am going to say:  Get ready for more misery folks, because the U.S. that you used to know will go away because Obama will be elected.

Well, haven’t mentioned this before (I think) but my #2 son (#3 kid) has been transferred from Iraq (his 2nd tour) to Afghanistan.  He should be there by now.  As I understand it he will be at an FOB somewhere west of kandahar in Helmund province.  That’s just a guess though.

Mentioned to the wife that I was thinking about starting a blog (she knows nothing of this one)….she suggests “Marv’s Musings”…………….just a thought.

House Bill passes, markets drop…….

The more Pissed I get

I agree with Lex when he says:

Mostly this is just infuriating: Wall Street colluded with the political class to take on enormous risk at taxpayer expense, socializing the downside generally while keeping the profits all to themselves. When the whole thing tanked, the same folks come around to those of us busting our butts to pay the mortgage and send the kids to school while trying to salt enough away to stay out of the pet food aisles come the “salad days” – fully knowing that the Social Security Ponzi scheme will by then have played out – and then they have the gall to ask for even more money.

No wonder I’m grouchy……..

But I think there is more to it than just the anger that we have been used in order to create this financial crisis.

It is a total breakdown of trust in our government and business leaders.  For years we are told that they are the Pied Piper, follow them to the land of milk and honey.  For years we are told that we need to give more money to maintain the programs established for those who cannot (add your own).

It is the beginning of the general public saying :”nope, not one more dime”.  Not one more dime until you clean house and spend our money wisely.  Not one more dime for federally funded political funds like Fanny and Freddy. Not one more dime for lawmakers in Congress who make careers out of taking money from the taxpayers, putting it in their pockets and lying to us about it, then retiring better off than most of us.

The majority of taxpayers in this country had NOTHING to do with what happened with this meltdown.  It was caused by and fed by the politicians who we hired to run this country.  Who were placed in a position of trust and who misused and abused that trust for financial and political gain for themselves and their political party.  The fact that most, if not all were democrats I will leave at that.  It’s provable, it’s true, but I’ll leave it at that.  Both parties need to be hauled behind the woodshed for this because both parties have been raping us financially for decades.

This is NOT OUR FAULT, we should not have to pay for it.  And those most directly involved such as Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Franklin Raines, Maxine waters and the others who turned a blind eye to the warnings, who ignored the warnings in order to keep this fiasco alive for their own good should be, at the very least, removed from their committee leaderships if not brought up on criminal charges and impeached.

These same people who were in the middle of causing this are the same ones that are put in the position of fixing this. This only allows them cover and the ability to sweep their very damaging actions under the rug.  Simply another opportunity for them to screw us over again.  The fact that Chris Dodd and Barney Frank are not recused and are involved simply indicated the level of corruption that exists inside the beltway.

It’s time to clean house.  It’s time to throw the baby out with the bathwater and fire all of them.  Start with a clean slate. Hire people who will clean house and leave it clean for the next group of leaders.

The only way to break the power structure in washington is to fire this already in power and imit their terms tothe terms as stated in the Constitution.  Only in this way can we prevent the cancerlike corruption that currently exists in our government.
