The Way We were

Lex sums it up quite nicely……

“In Nero’s time, Rome had to settle for a soloist: In these more modern times, we have assembled 535 fiddlers as the capital burns.

We let them play these little games for too long. Rewarded the better players with partisan loyalty, chairmanships and presitige! Made them vie and grapple amongst themselves for pork barrell primacy, always looking for the next personal hand out, never demanding any kind of stewardship.”

But where are we now?  What has happened to the United States of my childhood (I am 56)?  What happened to the United States, beacon of liberty?

They say “As goes California, so goes the country”  I so wish that wasn’t true.  California state government has been rife with socialists and communists (most running as democrats) for decades.  There are fewer now than there were simply due to term limits but they are still there.  And the Republican party will NEVER see a majority role in that state at least for the rest of my lifetime.

And from California comes Pelosi, Boxer, Waxman…..and they join the other socialists already in Congress to have the majority in both houses of Congress and very nearly the Supreme Court.

Enter the Great One, a marxist, to fill the Executive Branch………As goes California.

Were Gunna Change It and rearrange it…..

The change?……….. to socialism.

Used to be that prior to each election someone would say something like”the Republic will survive”

if Obama is elected, I have serious doubts about the survivability of the Republic.  Ithink we are witnessing the culmination of a quiet revolution being waged to turn us into a socialist society, and most of us aren’t even paying attention.

This is it folks, the fork in the road.  One leads left, one leads right.  Which are you going to choose?

“Welcome to the Brave New World” ?

Held Hostage

So His O-Liness says “my message too Congress is: get this done”…..you are part of Congress asshole.

Now, to the subject:

Today the House failed to pass the “bailout” bill.  I have heard alot today that it isn’t a bailout, that we, the public, just don’t understand what the bill does.  That may be true, but if it is, nobody is telling us what it REALLY is..

I have also heard that if something isn’t done fast, that we are in serious trouble.  If that is the case, my opinion is that once the bill is passed that anyone and everyone involved with getting us to this point be brought to trial for malfeasance at the very least. The private sector, as far as I can see, didn’t cause this, this is Freddy and fanny and congressional members who, for their own political and financial benefit, chose to do nothing when warned about the looming problems.

Regardless of the vote, regardless of the bill, the citizens of this country have suffered a massive loss at the expense of a few and the people who made this happen need to be held accountable.
