Gee….go figure, who woulda thunk it…that those congresspersons who visited Fidel Castro and had all those good things to say about Fidel were actually…well, SOCIALISTS!

What?  Socialists in our Government?  How’d they get there?  I thought they were DEMOCRATS!

As you may recall,  TARP turned over all power to solve the financial problems to the Secretary of the Treasury.  When the Secretary didn’t do what Congress thought he would do, Congress (Barney Frank) came unglued, even though they gave him carte blanche.

As you may recall, the “stimulus bill” , with Chris Dodd’s help, allowed the bonuses that the AIG executives got.  This idiot voted for that bill.  He voted to allow those executives to keep that money.  Much as I may not like it, they were entitled to that money (many of them worked for $1 a year and those bonuses were their only compensation). THIS IDIOT VOTED FOR IT!

So this idiot wants to give the Treasury secretary carte blanche to determine what is too much to pay people who work for companies that took TARP.

He’s willing to “trust” that the Secretary only means that people won’t be getting huge bonuses, but did he put any guarantees in the bill?   NO!

I don’t know what surprises me more, his intolerance of his responsbility to the American People, his arrogance in his response to legitimate questions aboput that bill, or his ognorance of the real puropose of his office.

These are the people driving this country.  God help us.,

Global Poverty Act of 2007(Sponsor: Barack Obama)

 - Directs the President, through the Secretary of State, to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the U.S. foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day.

Requires the strategy to contain specific and measurable goals and to consist of specified components, including: (1) continued investment or involvement in existing U.S. initiatives related to international poverty reduction and trade preference programs for developing countries; (2) improving the effectiveness of development assistance and making available additional overall United States assistance levels as appropriate; (3) enhancing and expanding debt relief as appropriate; (4) mobilizing and leveraging the participation of businesses and public-private partnerships; (5) coordinating the goal of poverty reduction with other internationally recognized Millennium Development Goals; and (6) integrating principles of sustainable development and entrepreneurship into policies and programs.

Sets forth specified reporting requirements. Directs the Secretary of State to designate a coordinator who will have primary responsibility for overseeing and drafting the reports, as well as responsibility for helping to implement recommendations contained in the reports.

According to Michelle Malkin, Senator Kennedy will miss the vote tomorrow.

Do the math: -(Kennedy)+ (Gregg) =a 1 vote lead for the upcoming vote.

Turn back two of the three Republican traitors and hold the line with the rest and the bill fails…….

To me, this sets a very scary precedent.  That a President of the United States uses (and I am sure, considering Woodhouse’s association with Obama, that this is coordinated) a political organization(s) to push his agenda.

The President of the United States is, supposedly, the President of all citizens.  That’s why his election is the ONLY nation wide election.

Obviously the President has his opinions and his agenda.  Let him address the citizens rather than through one of his shadow organizations.

The death of an ideology?  All through the campaigns I kept reading blogs with comments referring to the death of the Republican Party, the end of conservatives, that finally, FINALLY, we can be rid of those who stand in our way.  Well, it appears that they may have their wish.  I have always thought Obama and his ideology to be very dangerous to the basic foundations of our government and our way of life.  Now I am even more fearful.

The Bush years were not failures.  Considering what we have gone through, the economy did fairly well.  yes, we were dropping into a recession at the end of his term, but that is hardly unusual.  It happens towards the end of most Presidential terms simply because markets are reacting to the unknown.  It happened when Clinton left office, it happened when Bush left office. What also happened towards the end of Bush’s second term is

1. an unprecedented rise in oil and gas prices and
2. the collapse of the mortgage and banking industries brought about by policies created by democrats and assisted by the refusal to listen to the pleas from the Bush administration to reform those policies.

Now, free enterprise and capitalism are under attack by those we have placed in the Oval Office.  Wealth building is no longer an option, wealth sharing is the word of the day.

It is this wealth sharing that this stimulus package promotes.  Not economic growth but government work programs, promoted by shadow groups like AUFC at the President’s bidding.

Sounds like Marxism to me……

If the democrats would pay their taxes maybe we wouldn’t have a deficit.

Now, I have a mixed opinion about a “casual” Presidency. I don’t mind so much of he doesn’t have a suit coat on while in the oval office but he had better wear one when he receives someone in that office (or anywhere else other than in the residence for that matter).

And I hope that this thing about not playing “Hail To The Chief” is only sometimes and only for unofficial events, otherwise I will go apoplectic again.

You see, by not accepting the traditions of the office he thumbs his nose at the Presidency, both the office and the position, and at us.  Because he represents us, and the country, and the office.

By dressing down his appearance as well as the traditions, he diminishes the office that the American people elected him too.  In short, it’s nit HIS office to mess with, it’s OUR office.

When confronted with GOP objections he reminded them that “I won”. Further,

Across the isle friendship for the sake of moving the country forward my ass.  You could see this coming during the primaries when, despite what Obama said about his willingness to work with Republicans, he NEVER did.

Now you have a socialist leading the executive branch, the Senate, the house, and 1/3 of the Judicial.  Pelosi has already introduced a new rules package that basicallyeliminates any action by the minority party:

The rule was changed in a way that eliminates motions to lower taxes or motions to restrict spending. Pelosi gutted the “pay-as-you-go” rules that mandated that any mandatory spending increases or tax cuts must be offset. And a new loophole declares a piece of legislation an emergency when the U.S. is experiencing “sustained low economic growth.”

Furthermore, Pelosi removed a standing rule that made it impossible to hold votes open. That way, when liberals are losing a tough vote, she’ll have enough time to twist the necessary arms. The effect of the rules changes allows House liberals to push for higher taxes, because conservatives won’t be allowed to force votes anymore to remove tax increases from legislation on the floor.

Since October we have basically nationalized the auto industry.  As of today, we have nationalized Bank of America and Citi.  When will we nationalize the newpapers? The oil companies? Television? Radio?  And is it a coincidence that all this happens at the same time?  I don’t believe in coincidences.

Think this is a knee jerk reaction?  Don’t answer now, tell me what you think in a year.

Frankly, I am tired of  the idea that I should have to foot the bill because of the incompetence (at the least) or the political goals (at the very worst) of the asshats in Congress.

My retirement is gone largely because of these assholes.  The economy is a wreck largely because of these assholes.  And what happens to them?  They get an F-ing raise.

It’s time to freeze Congress’ pay, reduce their perks, establish term limits and get back to being served by public servents instead of power grabbing greedy pond scum that we have now.

Bawney Fwank and Chris Dodd should BE IN JAIL, NOT in Congress!
